I’ve repurposed cabinet doors in the past as trays, so when a friend said she had two that she was looking to either give to me or trash, I took them. My parents supplied the stained glass one a few years ago and it had been sitting in my shop collecting dust until I realized, “DUH, why not a tray?!” Good timing as I’ve been getting ready for the three upcoming festivals in Vermont where my other trays sold quickly.

Each is painted black, then distressed and sealed with a coat of shellac. I recently got a new stash of wine corks (no, these aren’t all mine). Wood glue holds the corks in place – one has the wine corks fully intact while the other’s corks are split and then glued in. Antique or vintage handles are added last, along with felt footies to protect any surface it rests on.

Trays: $22
